     Q. Who was Queen Esther?

        A. Esther was a pretty, clever Jewish girl who saved her people. King Ahasuerus thought she was so lovely that he made her his queen.

 

     Q. Why did Haman want to get rid of the Jews?

         A.  Haman was very proud. He expected everyone to bow down to him. Esther's uncle Mordecai, would only bow to God. Because he hated Mordecai, Haman talked the king into killing all the Jews.

 

     Q. How did Esther save her people?

         A. She dressed in her finest clothes and planned a banquet. She invited the king and Haman. The king was so pleased he offered Esther whatever she wanted. Esther told him how an evil man planned to kill her people. She asked the king to change the order. When the king learned Haman was the man, he was angry!

 

     Q. What happened to Haman?

         A. The king tricked Haman into honoring Mordecai. Haman had built gallows so that he could hang Mordecai, but instead the king had Haman hanged.
