New Testament Stories Message From Gabriel
And the angel said unto her, "fear not Mary, for you have found favor with God." Luke 1:30 The angel Gabriel went to a city Nazareth where a young woman named Mary lived. Mary was planning to be married to a man named Joseph. Joseph was from a family of children and grandchildren and great grandchildren of the King of David. "Hail, favored one!" cried Gabriel, when he saw Mary. "The Lord is with you!" Mary was surprised and afraid. But Gabriel said, " Don't be afraid Mary, God is pleased with you. You will have a son and you will call him Jesus. He will be a king forever." "How can this be?" asked Mary. "I don't have a husband." The angel told her, "The God will send the Holy Spirit to you. Your child will be God's Son." Mary said, "I am God's servant. Let what you have said happen." Not long after, Mary visited her cousin Elizabeth. She went to the hill country of Judea to the house of Zechariah and Elizabeth. Elizabeth was going to have a baby soon. When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby moved inside her. Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit and said, "You are the most blessed of women, and blessed is the child you will have." Then Mary sang a song about God: "My soul sings of the greatness of the Lord. My Spirit rejoices in God my Savior."
