The Blind Beggar

And they came to Jericho. and as He was going out from Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, a blind beggar named Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus was sitting beside the road. Mark 10:46

Jesus and His disciples visited the town of Jericho. When they left Jericho to go to Jerusalem, many people followed them.

A blind man named Bartimaeus was sitting by the roadside begging. When he heard that Jesus was walking down the road he began to shout.

"Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" Many people tried to hush him, but the more they tried, the louder he shouted, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!"

The people called to Bartimaeus, "You're lucky. Jesus is calling to you. Get up and go to Him."

Bartimaeus threw off his cape and jumped up. He went to where Jesus was standing.

"What do you want?" asked Jesus.

"Teacher, I want to see again," said the blind man.

"Go, in peace," said Jesus. "Your faith has healed you."  And with that, Bartimaeus could see. And after that he followed Jesus to Jerusalem, giving glory to God.
