Jesus Rides into Jerusalem

And they brought the colt to Jesus and put their garments on it; and He sat upon it.  Mark 11:7

Jesus and His disciples were at the edge of the city of Jerusalem. They were going there for the Passover celebration. When they got to the Mount of Olives, Jesus told two of His disciples,  "Go to that group of  houses. You will find a colt tied up that nobody ever rode before. Tell the man who owns it that the Lord needs it. He will send it back right away.

So they went and found the colt and told the man what Jesus had said. They brought, the colt to Jesus, and threw their capes over it for Him to sit on. Then they started toward Jerusalem.

As they went, the disciples walking and Jesus riding, people began to cry out, "Hosanna! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!"

Others threw down green branches they had cut from the trees for Jesus and His followers to walk on. Some even threw down their coats and capes in the rode in front Jesus. There were crowds everywhere, full of joy Jesus was there.
