 Martha and Mary

Now they were traveling along, He entered a certain village; and a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her home. Luke 10:38

                              Near Jerusalem is a village name Bethany. Jesus often stopped there to visit Mary and Martha, two sisters who were His friends.

     One day when Jesus came there, Martha invited Him in. Then Martha rushed around, fixing dinner and making the house neat.

     Her sister Mary wanted to hear what Jesus said. So she sat at His feet, looking up at Him and listening.

     But Martha still had a lot to do. She came and said to Jesus, "Lord, don't you care that I have to make dinner and clean up all by myself? Tell my sister Mary to come and help me!"

     Jesus said, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and upset about too many things. Mary has chosen well by sitting here and listening to me. It will not be taken away from her."
