Essence of God

Sovereignty

God is the supreme being of the universe.

Deut. 4:39  Know therefore this day, and consider it in your heart, that the Lord, He is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath; there is none else.

RIGHTEOUSNESS

God is absolutely holy, or righteous.

Psalm 145:17  The Lord is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works.

LOVE

God is eternal and unchangeable love.

Jer. 31:3  The Lord appeared to him from afar, saying,  I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore I have drawn you with lovingkindness.

JUSTICE

      God is Just, and cannot be unfair.  His justice demands that disobedience against His laws be punished.  Justice administers the penalty that righteousness demands.

Psalm 19:9  ...the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. 

ETERNAL LIFE

God is absolute existence.

Ex. 3:14  And God said unto Moses, "I AM WHO I AM: and he said, Thus you shall say unto the sons of Israel, I AM has sent me unto you."

OMNIPRESENCE

God is ever-present, neither limited by time nor space, immanent and transcendent.

Jer. 23:24 "Can man hide himself in hiding places, So I don't see him?" "Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?" declares the Lord.

OMNIPOTENCE

God is all-powerful and limitless in ability.

Gen. 17:1;  Now when Abram was ninety-nine years old; the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, "I am God Almighty; Walk before Me, and be blameless." 

OMNISCIENCE

God is all-knowledge.

1 Sam. 2:3  Boast no more so very proudly; Don no let  arrogance come out of your mouth; For the Lord is a God of knowledge, and with Him actions are weighed.

IMMUTABILITY 

God is neither capable of nor susceptible to change.

Psa. 102:26,27 Even they will perish, but Thou dost endure; And all of them will wear out like garment; Like clothing Thou wilt change them, and they will be changed. But Thou art the same, and Thy years will to come to and end.

VERACITY

God is absolute Truth, (Deut. 32:4) God's truth is manifested: in His ways.

Psa. 25:10; All the paths of the Lord are lovingkindness and truth to those who keep His covenant and His testimonies.
