Beatitudes: Jesus Talks about Blessings

And opening His mouth He began to teach them saying,...

Matthew 5:2

                              Everywhere that Jesus and His disciples went, crowds followed. One day, Jesus saw how many people wanted to hear Him, He and His disciples went up on a hillside and sat down. Then He began to speak:

     "Blessed are the people who know they need God," Jesus told them. "The kingdom of heaven belongs to them."

     "Blessed are the people who are sad. God will comfort them."

     "Blessed are the people who fell hungry and thirsty for fairness and goodness. God will give them all they hope for."    

     "Blessed are the people who are kind to others. God will be kind to them."

     "Blessed are the people with pure hearts. They will see God."

     "Blessed are the people who make peace. They will be called God's children."

     Finally He said, "Blessed are those who are treated badly when they love God and do God's work. God will give them the kingdom of heaven."
